Chili

  • 1 lb ground beef (if you double the recipe you can add other kinds of ground meat- turkey/pork etc).
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic minced
  • 1 can of diced tomatos
  • 1 can of beans (kidney beans, black beans, white or garbanzo)
  • 1/2 can (or small can) of tomato sauce
  • 3-4 t of chili seasoning (paprika, garlic salt, onion salt, cumin)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • optional: for tomato free/acid free substituted canned pumpkin and canned beat juice for tomatos- add beat juice carefully until it is the right color, for added thickness add a can of refried beans, for more flavor add some pesto sauce,
In a large pan, cook onions, garlic and meat. When meat is cooked, add the rest of the ingredients. Simmer for 10 minutes (longer for more flavor). Serve with: sour cream, shredded cheese, guacamole, chips, rice, or crusty bread.
