- 2 cups of powdered sugar (more if using tubes to frost designs- less if you want the buttery taste)
- 1/2 c butter room temp (not too cold or melted)
- 1 t vanilla
- 2 T milk
Add the butter and 1/2 the sugar and beat with a mixer. Then add the rest of the powdered sugar and half the milk. Finally add the vanilla and the rest of the milk.
Add more powdered sugar to get the desired stiffness. If you add liquid flavor or liquid color, you will probably have to add more powdered sugar to compensate.
This recipe makes enough for 12 cupcakes, but it is easily doubled.
