Lentils with Garlic and Onion

Ingredients:
  • 4 T oil
  • 1 t cumin
  • 4 cloves garlic chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 c lentils (the smaller the lentils are the less time they'll take to cook)
  • 3 c water
  • 1 t salt
  • 1/8-1/4 cayenne pepper
Directions:
Heat oil in saucepan. Add garlic and cumin. After garlic is brown, put in onion. Add lentils and water. Bring to boil. Cover, turn heat to low and cook between 45 minutes and 1 hour. Stir in salt and cayenne. Serve over rice.
