Ingredients:
- Dough
- 1 1/3 c warm water
- 1 package active dry yeast
- 3 c flour
- 1 t salt
- 1 t olive oil
- toppings
- pizza sauce/pureed tomato/pesto
- mozzarella cheese (fresh or regular) can use vegan cheese
- Desired veggies or meat
- fresh basil/herbs
Combine water and yeast, until dissolved. In separate bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually add to yeast mixture while stirring. When dough gets too stiff to stir, continue to add flour while kneading. Knead dough for 5-10 minutes. Lightly oil bowl, place dough in bowl, turning once to coat. Let rise 1 1/2 hours. Punch dough down and cut in half. Shape halves into balls. Cover loosely with saran wrap and let rise 1 hour. Meanwhile prepare toppings and heat.
Preheat oven to 500 degrees (or if using pizza stone and grill, turn to high). Stretch out each piece of dough into circle. Place on baking sheet.
For oven with cookie sheet-cook crust for 5 minutes first, then add toppings quickly and bake additional 6-7 minutes. Stop after every couple and make sure the oven is up to temp.
With Pizza stone or grill- preheat stone in oven, put toppings on uncooked dough and bake 6-7 minutes.
Don't overload toppings and watch pizzas carefully, they cook fast.
