- 1 lb ground sirloin/beef
- 1/2 lb butter
- 1 c flour
- ground pepper
- 1 carrot sliced
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 stalk celery diced
- 1 pkg frozen mixed veggies
- 1 can tomatoes
- 4 T beef base (bouillon etc.)-or use 8 c beef broth and omit water
- 8 c water
In large soup pot, brown sirlon. Take out and set aside. Then melt butter and whisk in flour to make a "roux". Slowly add water, mixing constantly. After all the water has been mixed in, add the remaining ingredients and ground beef to bring to a boil. Simmer for 1-2 hours.
