Mom's Basic Stir Fry

Ingredients:
  • 1 lb pork or chicken (if vegetarian omit or substitute black mushrooms)
  • 1 T soy sauce
  • 1T wine
  • 1 T cornstarch
  • vegetables of choice
  • 1 clove garlic, smashed
  • 1 t salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 can chicken broth
Directions:
Cut meat into bite sized pieces. Combine soy sauce, wine and starch and toss meat in it. Cut vegetables into bite sized pieces as well. Heat a wok (or large fry pan). Add oil. When the oil is hot, add ginger and garlice. Before ginger and garlic begin to brown, add vegetables. Stir fry for one minute to seal in flavor. Take out vegetables and set aside. Add more oil. When hot, add meat and stir fry until brown, put vegetables back in. Add chicken broth and cook until meat is ready and vegetables are just tender. Mix cornstarch and water, then slowly add to sauce. Once solution is liquid, add slowly to stir-fry while stirring briskly. Stop when desired consistency is reached.

Serve over rice
