- 5 roma tomatoes (or 1 can of italian roma tomatoes)
- 1/4 t turmeric
- 1/4 t salt
- 1/8 t red chili powder (optional)
for either canned or fresh; Put tomatoes into small pot, add salt turmeric, chili powder and smash it all down. Cook over medium low heat for 8 to 12 minutes.
serve with dal and rice
